If you want to become part of one of the fastest growing professions in the medical industry today, then a career as a Clinical/Medical Assistant from Southwest Schools would be perfect for you. Southwest Schools offers an intensive medical assistant program training, which will train you for clinical as well as administrative duties.
Our Clinical/Medical Assistant Program ensures that our medical assistants are trained in all aspects of medical assisting, which in turn allows for flexibility in the work place, as responsibilities of a medical assistant differ from one medical office to another, depending on location, size and policies of the medical practice.
Graduates from our program learn to perform clinical duties such as collecting and processing laboratory specimens, administering medication, preparing patients for X-rays or other medical examinations along with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments for patients, answering phone calls, medical transcription, procedural and diagnostic coding, managing accounts payable, accounts receivables, and payroll.
Upon graduation students are qualified to work in physician’s offices, clinics, and other health care facilities. The Clinical/Medical Assistant Program offered at Southwest Schools is administered in two sections, including lectures and hands-on demonstrations along with an externship program at a health care facility, where students will have an opportunity to practice their skills.
SWS is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Council on Occupational Education, The Clinical/Medical Assistant Program offered by Southwest Schools is offered in campuses located in Corpus Christi, McAllen, and San Antonio.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts an exceptionally strong demand for experienced medical assistants in the future given medical advancements and an aging population. These positions will, however, require both flexibility and ability to multi-task.
