The program is designed to provide students the skills required to get their licenses by taking the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation exam.

The Cosmetology Operator program trains students in basic cosmetology skills, safety, proper work habits, and sanitation methods necessary for passing the state exam and getting entry-level positions in salons, spas, resorts, and/ or cosmetic companies. Upon graduation, students can find employment as hair stylists or nail technicians, make-up artists for films and stage productions, or even start up their own salon.

Our students are trained to cut, style, and color hair; perform manicures and pedicures; learn about skin types and facials; and gain knowledge about various make-up application techniques in addition to professional retail and business-building skills.

Besides theoretical knowledge, you will be provided extensive hands-on learning to give you a complete understanding of beauty and wellness. Training is provided on campuses located in Austin North and South, Del Rio, Eagle Pass, San Antonio Commercial, San Antonio San Pedro, and Uvalde.

Southwest Schoos is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE). Our Graduates of our Cosmetology Operator program are increasingly popular hires among employers. Employers prefer candidates who have attended an accredited school.
