Students in our Cosmetology Operator (hairstylist) program receive comprehensive training in hair braiding, haircuts, hairstyling, nail care, and skin care and customer service. Besides theoretical procedures, students will gain real world training from experienced instructors who will show you what it takes to be a sought-after beautician.
Graduates of our program learn to work comfortably with customers. Our program is designed to provide you real world exposure to clients within a safe classroom setting. You will have a real sense of accomplishment once you’ve completed the Cosmetology Operator program at Southwest Schools. You will also develop business building and marketing skills.
Graduates of our program acquire a broad knowledge of both the science and art of cosmetology and are able to use that knowledge as a foundation to be successful in the profession of cosmetology. Cosmetology Operator training is available at the North and South Austin campuses, Del Rio, Eagle Pass, San Antonio Commercial, San Antonio, San Pedro, and Uvalde campuses.
SWS is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Council on Occupational Education. The Cosmetology Operator program at SWS prepares students for the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation examination. Once the students has completed the program and passed the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation Examination for licensure, he/she will be qualified to obtain entry-level employment as professional stylist, make-up technician, skin care specialist, platform artist and other related positions. Upon graduation, students find employment in salons, day spas, and various other beauty facilities.
