Our Medical Office Specialist program is designed to teach students the skills and abilities necessary for the smooth functioning of medical clinics, hospitals, doctor’s offices and other medical related businesses.
You will learn Microsoft word processing and spreadsheet applications as well as medical transcription, medical insurance, medical coding, computerized medical billing and business communication. Additionally, you will also learn to greet patients, file records, fill out insurance forms and schedule patient appointments.
By integrating current computer technology programs with strong communication and administrative skills training, Southwest Schools prepare our graduates to face the challenging demands of a sophisticated medical office environment.
Students are provided with extensive hands-on training in addition to classroom training. Medical Office Specialist training is available on campuses located in Corpus Christi, McAllen, and San Antonio.
Southwest Schools is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE). The Medical Office Specialist program prepares students to take the National Center for Competency Testing examination in order to become a Certified Medical Office Specialist.
