This program prepares students to gain entry-level positions in retail pharmacies, health care clinics, pharmaceutical companies and many more.

You will be prepared to work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist in retail as well as pharmacy settings. As a student in our Pharmacy Technician program, you will learn about medical abbreviations, drug interactions, anatomy, physiology, adverse effects of pharmaceuticals, how to fill and dispense prescriptions, billing, communication and computer skills, pharmacy law and ethics.

The Pharmacy Technician Certificate Program at SWS can help you prepare for an entry-level position as a pharmacy technician with hands-on laboratory training and instruction from highly qualified teachers with extensive industry and real-world experience.

Southwest Schools is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE). The Pharmacy Technician program offered by SWS prepares students to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s (PTCB), National Certification Exam.
