	Southwest Schools Uvalde is located on the Historic Square in downtown Uvalde, near the “Janey Briscoe Grand Opera House” named for the wife of former Texas Governor Dolph Briscoe.  As the only cosmetology school in the area, SWS Uvalde serves Kinney, Maverick and Uvalde Counties. Our facilities boast approximately 5,000 square feet of classrooms, offices, student lounges and client areas, ensuring top-class professional instruction and equipment for our students.



	The City of Uvalde calls itself home to a population of 17,000, with the inhabitants of the surrounding Uvalde Metro bringing the total local population to 30,000. Situated 70 miles west of San Antonio, Uvalde was also the home of former U.S. Vice President John Nance Garner.
