Additional Requirements for Pharmacy Students

Please note that students enrolling in the Pharmacy Technician program are required to have earned a high school diploma or GED and may not have any felony convictions. All students are required to register with the Board as Pharmacy Technician trainees. All trainees must register as Pharmacy Technicians within two years. Pharmacy students are also required to undergo a criminal background check (including fingerprinting), as well as taking and passing the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s National Certification Examination in order to become employed as a Pharmacy Technician. *

*The National Certification Examination fee is currently $129, the Pharmacy Technician registration fee is $54, and the fee to register as a Pharmacy Technician trainee is $53.
