You could grab your piece of that pie as a fully qualified member of this exciting field -- and the first step is the Pharmacy Technician Program at Southwest Schools.

SWS has selected its Pharmacy Technician Program curriculum to meet the specific current and projected employment needs of the pharmaceutical industry. You’ll learn about pharmacology basics, common terminology and abbreviations, adverse effects of pharmaceuticals, how to fill and dispense prescriptions, as well as billing, communication and computer skills.  Get the knowledge, training and self-confidence you need to pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s National Certification Exam and continue toward a rewarding pharmacy career.

Additional Requirements for Pharmacy Students

Students enrolling in the Pharmacy Technician program must have a high school diploma or GED and may not have any felony convictions. They must also register with the Board as Pharmacy Technician trainees. Within two years, they must register as Pharmacy Technicians. Pharmacy students must undergo a criminal background check (including fingerprinting), and they must take and pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s National Certification Examination to register as a Pharmacy Technician. *

*The National Certification Examination fee is $129, the fee to register as a Pharmacy Technician is $54,  and the fee to register as a Pharmacy Technician trainee is $53.
